Hudson Valley, NY

MID CENTURY RESIDENCE

A sensitive restoration of a classic mid-20th-century residence in New York’s Hudson Valley highlights and heightens the strong modernist lines of the 1968 home, while simultaneously adapting the two-bedroom, 2,000-square-foot house for contemporary living. Carefully selected furnishings comprise an era-appropriate collection of vintage pieces, including classic and rare designs by the likes of Greta Magnusson Grossman, Milo Baughman, Jens Risom and Paul McCobb, all complemented by contemporary lighting and new custom creations. A redesign of the seven-acre property’s grounds — which now prominently feature a wildflower meadow and a pool lined with slabs of native New York bluestone — completes the project.
