This new store model for Calvin Klein Underwear represents a departure from the brand’s previously minimalist aesthetic. In this concept, executed worldwide, custom-created sculptural forms house all product, with each form responding to a specific item’s packaging and display requirements, as well as its unique features — a sheer intimate, for example, backlit to highlight its fabric and color. To reduce on-site construction time and cost, the stores consist predominantly of prefabricated elements, with on-site work largely limited to the creation of a neutral background. Otherwise, the sculptural forms containing the merchandise define the design of each space, putting paramount emphasis on the product and resulting in a dynamic environment, even within relatively small confines.
